• 🔥The Land of Fire — Azerbaijan has been known since ancient times as the 'Land of Fire' thanks to its rich underground oil and natural gas deposits. In several places, natural gas seeps through the earth to create eternal flames. The most famous is Yanar Dag ('Burning Mountain') near Baku, where a hillside fire has burned continuously for centuries, unaffected by rain or snow.
