• 🏞Also known as DR Congo or Congo-Kinshasa. A vast Central African country on the eastern bank of the Congo River, formerly the personal estate of King Leopold II and subsequently a Belgian colony.
• 🏳️The current flag was officially adopted in 2006. The sky-blue field symbolizes peace, hope and a tranquil future after years of internal conflict. The red diagonal stripe represents the blood of the nation's martyrs and the sacrifices made for its freedom. The yellow borders symbolize the country's vast mineral wealth and future prosperity, and the large yellow star signifies the unity of the nation and the guiding light toward a bright future.
• 🌍An absolute giant — the DRC is the second-largest country in Africa (after Algeria) and the 11th-largest in the world. Its territory is comparable to the size of Western Europe, yet it has almost no paved highways connecting its major cities.
• 💎A geological miracle — the DRC is incredibly rich in natural resources. It holds over half of the world's cobalt (crucial for smartphone and EV batteries), along with massive deposits of diamonds, gold, copper and coltan.
• 🌊The deepest river on Earth — the Congo River is the second-largest in the world by water volume (after the Amazon) and officially the deepest river on the planet, reaching depths of over 220–250 meters (720–820 feet) in certain sections.
